The municipal election is fast approaching as candidates begin to register and popular community issues are identified.  The Chamber of Commerce has started setting the tone for the October 25th election by identifying some key topics of discussion.  In a public opinion survey the following issues were identified:

1)  Taxes

2)  Jobs and Prosperity

3)  Health care

4)  The Downtown core

The Chamber of Commerce has also included a list of topics that they will be highlighting during the election:

1)  A Pan Am stadium at the west harbour – (City Council or The Spectator reports)

2)  Light Rail Transit

3)  Expanding the urban boundary to make space for employment lands

4)  A downtown GO station

5)  Establishing a development corporation and transit commission
