HB Arthritis Society

By Jillian

Looking for a great way to get involved in your community and give back…for just one day? The Hamilton and Burlington chapters of the Arthritis Society are looking for volunteers for the 2011 Walk to Fight Arthritis!

The Arthritis Society of Canada has been around for about 60 years; it is a health-related charity that is dedicated to promoting arthritis education, and providing support to those living with arthritis through research and community-based support solutions. The society does incredible work in supporting people living with a painful disease, but there aren’t a whole lot of people out there who are aware of its services. The purpose of the 2011 Walk to Fight Arthritis is twofold-to promote awareness of the disease, the Arthritis Society and its programs, and to raise money to fund research and other programs. In order for the event to be a success, there is a need for volunteers to help out with things like day-of operations, promotions and registration. There’s also a need for “feet on the street,” so if you’re interested in registering a team and fundraising for this great event, that’s greatly appreciated as well!
