Food Truck Fever
The perfect way to kick off a summer and the start of the week! Hamilton is proud to be the home to a new dining trend that is taking the streets by storm. Food Trucks are popping up in the Hamilton community and provide a perfect reason to get outside and enjoy great food. There are two food trucks expected in Hamilton this summer – the first opened up shop (metaphorically, of course) this week and the other is expecting to launch in July.
We have heard a lot about this trend in the news lately, with articles profiling both companies with great excitement in The Spec HERE and HERE and HERE, jealously in The Toronto Star and there is a great shoutout from one of our favourite blogs The James St N Art Crawl!
The Cupcake Diner makes up to four stops a day in Hamilton, Dundas and Ancaster with a new menu of freshly baked cupcakes each day. Chef and entrepreneur Natalie Ravoi makes the cupcakes herself in the mornings and then hops in her CCD van to sell them. Taking advantage of Facebook and Twitter you can easily find out where to find this bright pink van each day. Start off your week by checking them out!
Here is where the CCD will be this week!
Gorilla Cheese (careful: there site is under renovation) is the second company taking their product to the streets. They will serve custom grilled cheese sandwiches, homemade soup and baked beans. They are expecting to be up and running by July but you can check them out on Facebook and Twitter now!
We hope you enjoy the great food that is circulating the city this summer! We can’t wait to try it out.
