Friends of the Aviary

This macaw (Dwight) was very chatty hollering “Hello” at all those who passed by!

The Hamilton Friends of the Aviary is a volunteer group that is devoted to supporting parrots and other exotic birds. You can see the colourful birds from various destinations, and chat away with some of the many parrots. The volunteer run organization was established in 1927 in Hamilton and is now home to over 200 birds! Some of the birds available for view include parakeets, peacocks and other exotic feathered creatures from around the world (the collection of birds come from places in Africa, Asia, South America and Central America). The Aviary is located in a beautiful park setting and is open to the public on Sundays from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm. Admission is free and guided tours are available!

This pink cockatoo is one of many different type of birds housed at the aviary!

Billy (seen hanging from the top of her cage) and Bubetter are two Blue and Gold Macaw parrots!
