Hidden Gems in Hamilton

We spend a lot of time here at PTB talking about the great locations to check out in Hamilton – we even have a Top 10 list!  But sometimes the best way to discover Hamilton is to find your own favourite places.  Today, we want to share a few of the spots we have come to know and love in Hamilton.

1) Dundas – The Collins
Spending the afternoon on a patio with friends is one of our favourite summer activities.  McMaster students tend to inhabit patios on campus or in Westdale but Dundas is a great alternative.  There are so many different patios to try out.  The Collins is one of our favourites!

2) Crooks St overpass
One day last summer we went exploring in Hamilton and took a walk along the water from Princess Point to Bayfront Park for the first time!  Instead of walking back along the water, we went through the city and found this gem – a small overpass that looks onto the harbour.  The most interesting part about the view is that it is right off of Barton St and yet so at odds with what most McMaster students believe that area of town is like.  It is still my favourite view in the city.

3) Starlight Drive-in
Being a student can break the bank and it there is nothing we love more than finding a deal!  The Starlight Drive-in is the perfect night out for a university student on a budget – just get together a carload of people and enjoy a night of movie-watching for the bargain price of $15/car on Thursday’s.

Next time you are looking for something to do in Hamilton try out one of these gems!
