While on the Art Crawl…

The Hammer City Roller Girls are busy — knitting, beading, painting & pasting! During the James St N Art Crawl on December 9th, they’ll be rolling out a Holiday Craft & Bake Sale.

Derby girls are baking and crafting everything, and the proceeds are going to the St. Matthew’s House Adopt-a-Family program. This program is an annual service that helps families to have gifts and meals during the holiday season.

If you are interested in joining in with the Adopt-a-Family program, find more information at http://www.inform.hamilton.ca/record/HAM6389. There are three ways you can sponsor a family:  1)Provide food or supermarket vouchers for “Christmas Dinner” for a family. 2) Provide new, unwrapped toys for children or gifts for teenagers.  3) Complete Sponsorship: Sponsor a small or large family by supplying the “Christmas Dinner”, as well as one to two gifts and some new clothing for each child. A guideline is given for a family of four as $150-$175 with supermarket certificates for meat.

The Roller Girls’ baking and crafts sales will be at three locations along the Crawl route:
This Ain’t Hollywood (345 James St. North)
Hammer City Records (228 James St. North @ Rear)
Outside the Lighthouse Fish Market (219 James St. North)

Come and load up on awesome gifts, hot chocolate and delicious baked treats — the perfect sugar rush before hitting the next gallery. Organic, vegan, raw, and gluten-free options are available for everyone.

Be sure to check out the Hammer City Roller Girls on their website – they’re a great team and a blast to watch. Keep up to date on http://hammercityrollergirls.ca/.

Also, while you’re supporting this great cause, don’t forget to enjoy the rest of the James St N. art crawl! There’s always great work being done in Hamilton, and the art crawl is the perfect opportunity to get engaged with this thriving artistic community.
