Royal Botanical Gardens Holiday Festivities
The Royal Botanical Gardens are literally in McMaster’s backyard, but the RBG constitute a much more impressive and expansive property than the trails behind Brandon Hall. The Botanical Gardens are a beautiful resource throughout the year -with exhibits and festivals running in summer and winter alike.
This winter the RBG are proud to host the “Doorways to the Holidays” celebration. Running daily from 10am to 4pm, it’s the perfect study break during exams. The celebration lasts from Nov. 26th all the way to Jan. 8th. You’ll be able to hang out with Santa and some reindeer, as well as see model train demonstrations. There are holiday movie screenings daily at 2pm, as well as a host of musical performances. Further still, there are holiday themed crafts and a celebration of the solstice with a bonfire! There’s something for everyone, so it’s definitely worth checking out!
The RBG centre is open daily from 10am to 5pm at 680 Plains Rd, Burlington. To get there by bus, head out to King and James, then connect to the 1 Plains/Fairview bus. Check out their website for more information: http://www.rbg.ca/Page.aspx?pid=436
