Fashion in the Hammer
“A fashion event unlike any other: all the clothes are made of reused materials, and contrary to the messages promoted by many fashion shows, the theme is Respect. Fashion, music, dance and spoken word will help tell the stories of working for a better world.
This fashion show explores Respect, as part of a triad with Love and Trust. It sheds light on multiple perspectives of respect – respect for oneself, for partners, family, and community. It is also intended as an evolutionary theme from the previous RevWear shows – as a next step in recovery and rebellion against the ills of society, which is infested with disrespect.”
A really cool idea for a fashion show, and a great way to get engaged with the city’s artistic community, as well as others who share certain values about the role of community in today’s society. Definitely worth checking out.
ALSO: The Bachelor of Health Sciences program is hosting their annual Charity Fashion Show this weekend in CIBC Hall. You can buy tickets on campus today, and all proceeds go to Camp Trillium.
Why not make it a fashion-filled weekend and check out these fashion shows, then hit the shops. I hear Ottawa St. and James St. have great sartorial sites…
