Breathe In That Fresh Country Air

This Saturday, June 16th is Farm Crawl Hamilton!

During this event, participants will visit three different farms in Ontario’s Greenbelt and learn about Community Supported Agriculture in the Hamilton area. The three farms involved are:

Lotsa Hostas and Jerries Berries: Owned by Jerry and Glenda Bargeman. Participants will view and appreciate the gorgeous collection of Hosta flowers and get to bring one home, too! You will be excited to know that this farm also contains three acres of delicious raspberries.

Manorun Organic Farm: Owned by Chris Krucker and Denise Trigatti. At this farm participants will get a taste (literally) of what it means to run an organic farm. Notable activities include milking cows and clay-oven baked pizza.

Weirs Lane Lavender and Apiary– Owned by Kevin Beagle and McMaster’s very own Abigail Payne, who is a Professor in the Economics Department. Participants will learn about growing, cooking and sewing with lavender, as well as keeping bees.

This event will run rain or shine. Tickets are $15 for Adults and $7.50 for children. They will be available throughout the week at various locations.
