Something Old, Something New, Something Awesome.

Hamiltons’ Museums run some pretty
great events in addition to their elaborate collection of antiques!

Whitehern Historic House & Garden, located at  holds an event every week called “Wednesdays at Whitehern”. This is a free (what a beautiful word) event that offers live music, tea, lemonade and cookies! You can bring along your lunch and sit outside for a great show. For their next event, Whitehern will be featuring musical artists Kazimieras Simaitis & Elana Laing.

Fieldcote Memorial Park and Museum, located at 64 Sulphur Springs Road, is another busy museum in the Hamilton region. Fieldcote not only hosts weekly concerts, it also hosts a film night every Friday. This particular event will be running for the rest of August, with the films beginning at dusk. This week Fieldcote will be showing “The Artist”.

One of the more famous events held at the The Battlefield House Museum and Park, is a reenactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek which is held every June. However this is not the only event that the Battlefield hosts. This coming September the Museum and Park will host an Apple Festival for all ages. This event features a pancake breakfast, pumpkin decorating and a Battlefield Bake-Off! The Battlefield Museum and Park is located at 77 King Street West.

I can promise you that at least one museum in Hamilton has an event that’s for you! I know I will be checking out Fieldcote with a lawn chair and snacks in hand 🙂
