Tomorrow – Invasive Species Removal
‘Tis the season to be eco-friendly! Well actually, that’s all-year-round, but spring is an especially great time to ignite your passions about sustaining our environment.
Aside from the annual Cootes Clean-up happening tomorrow at 2:00 pm, there is another very cool conservation initiative needing volunteers from 9:00 am-3:00 pm tomorrow. Buckthorn is an invasive species of shrub that has taken root across the continent and is crowding out many native plant species. A Biology 4AA3 class has created this project to remove Buckthorn from an area southwest of McMaster on Lower Lions Club Road and the event is happening tomorrow! Check out the Poster for more details.
To continue with the theme, the McMaster Choir is having their spring concert tomorrow at 7:30 (located at Central Presbyterian Church, 165 Charlton Ave W). The show is called Listen to the Earth!, and is an environmentally themed concert you won’t want to miss. Tickets are $12 for students and can be purchased online or at the door.
Also, don’t forget about our hike through Spencer Gorge at 3:30 today – meet outside Gilmour Hall 110, and be sure to bring some boots!
